Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026 · version 1.1
In short: MYMENT stores the videos you film so you can watch and share them. A clip is private by default — only you can see it, unless you explicitly choose to publish it. Nothing appears on the open web, and we do not sell anyone's information. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time, from inside the app.
Who we are
MYMENT is an app for capturing moments of young athletes. We are the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR. For anything to do with privacy: privacy@myment.app.
What we collect
- Account details: email address, name, birth year and account type (parent / player / creator). The birth year is needed to know whether an account belongs to a minor and to apply parental consent.
- Video: the short clips cut from your recording, and their cover images.
- Recording details: when a session started and ended, the moment the MYMENT! button was pressed, and which category was chosen (goal, save and so on).
- Family links: who is linked to whom, so a child's clip reaches their page and their parent.
- Technical data: crash reports and basic usage events (screens opened, key actions), so we know what broke and what works. They contain none of your video and are not used for personalised advertising.
The full session recording is never uploaded to the cloud. It stays on the device and is deleted from it when you choose to delete it.
Where it is stored
Everything is stored in Google Firebase, in the European Union region (europe-west). Google acts as our data processor.
Who can see a clip
- By default, only you. A new clip is private.
- If you publish a clip to the feed, signed-in app users can see it. Even then it is not on the open web and is not indexed by search engines.
- If you share a clip yourself (WhatsApp and the like), the link is in the hands of whoever you sent it to. That is your decision.
- For a child under 14, publishing requires a linked parent account.
Children and minors
This app is for young athletes, which makes this the most important section here.
- Every account provides a birth year once.
- A child under 14 signing up alone gets no access until a parent approves. The child enters their parent's email, the parent receives a link request and approves it — that approval is our recorded parental consent, and it is stored with its date.
- A parent can view, delete or withdraw any of their child's clips at any time.
- We do not profile minors and do not show them personalised advertising.
How long we keep it
- Clips: until you delete them, or delete your account.
- The full recording: never in the cloud at all (see above).
- Account details: as long as the account exists.
- Crash reports: up to 90 days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may access, correct, delete, restrict the use of, and receive a copy of your data. The quickest routes:
- Full deletion: in the app — Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes the account, every clip and every related record, and cannot be undone.
- If you have already uninstalled the app, request deletion on this page.
- For anything else: privacy@myment.app. We reply within 30 days.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent information to third parties.
- There are no advertisements in the app today. If that changes we will update this policy and give notice before it takes effect — and in any case minors will not be shown personalised advertising.
- We do not use your videos to train models or for marketing without explicit permission.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
